It seems that maps are too static to use as a tool to help to maintain local identity in a global landscape. Or do you want to use the map as a starting point for statistics and research?

To "get the word out" you need a more active medium. Maybe think of where the roots for the global landscape are. How can you change the direction from there. At the moment I don't have a clear idea what it can be. But I think it has to be more public.
